Collaborations... Jamie has established relationships with other organisations, handfelting their own animal fibres into products that are exclusively available as part of their own range. This allows him to work with materials that are otherwise difficult to come by, producing some very specialist handmade felt. Jamie is selective about who he works with in order that the collaboration produces something really special. |

Toft Alpaca...
|
Toft Alpacas is the prizewinning herd owned by Rob & Shirley Bettinson, based in the hamlet of Toft near the village of Dunchurch , in North East Warwickshire. Every year the superfine, extremely soft fibres from shearing are processed through to yarns and then luxury knitted and woven products which are sold in the Toft Alpaca Shop, managed by Kerry Bettinson. Jamie uses the remaining coarser fibres to handfelt bags similar to the JamBag range but made entirely in the natural alpaca colours, using alpaca yarn for details. Alpaca fleece comes in a full range of shades from white through light fawn, light tan, dark tan, light brown, mid browns, dark browns, greys and pure black - no sheep produce pure black wool, the closest is the Black welsh which is a very dark brown.
